A camp counselor supervises campers, ensures their safety, and creates a positive, engaging camp experience. This role combines leadership, activity facilitation, and youth development.
Supervise campers during daily activities, transitions, and special events.
Lead and assist with camp programs such as sports, arts and crafts, team-building games, and educational activities.
Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all campers.
Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating respect, teamwork, and good decisionmaking.
Help resolve conflicts and provide emotional support when needed.
Monitor camper behavior and report concerns to supervisors.
Assist with first aid situations and follow camp safety procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of activity areas and shared spaces.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and daily briefings.
Strong communication and leadership abilities.
Experience working with children or youth groups.
Ability to manage groups and maintain a structured environment.
Patience, creativity, and problemsolving skills.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to work outdoors and participate in physical activities.
Maintain a positive attitude and high energy throughout the camp day.
Engage actively with campers rather than observing from the sidelines.
Follow all camp policies, schedules, and safety guidelines.
Support fellow staff members and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
