CAMP CANTEEN SPECIALIST/HEAD HOUSEKEEPER

Location: Camp Hidden Lake, Lexington, Mississippi Position Type: Temporary Full-Time Pay Rate: $400.00 per week

This position is responsible for: Plans, coordinates, supervises, and evaluates the day-to-day operations of the canteen and assists in the office under the office manager; maintains stock of drinks and snacks; conducts inventory of all clothing, food, and beverages. Plans, schedules, instructs, supervises, and monitors the day-to-day general housekeeping of the camp facilities; ensures all rooms and offices are well maintained and cleaned.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for cash received at the canteen • Supervises other staff members assigned to work in the canteen. • Ensures all housekeeping equipment remains in proper working order and in compliance with standard operating procedures and safety standards. • Maintains an inventory of all Salvation Army cleaning supplies. • Leads other camp housekeepers in the proper methods and procedures for performing housekeeping work. • Cleans bedrooms, washes, stores, and distributes linens; ensures the cleanliness of the camp daily.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Some physical requirements of the position include endurance, which involves activities such as climbing, standing, bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity are required to manipulate canteen/housekeeping equipment and perform various activities. Requires a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU

Two years of experience working with children in a camp environment is preferred, and Three years of experience performing housekeeping work, with at least one year of lead worker or supervisory experience preferred, or Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses and Certifications:

CPR and First Aid Certified
