An Aquatics Director is a leader who is responsible for the care and supervision of all campers and Team Members in the swimming pool area while implementing the Aquatics program, safety protocols, curriculum, and schedule.

Requirements:
Leadership Background:
2-4 years' leadership and staff supervision experience required.
Performance management experience is preferred.
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Teaching or related certification preferred.
Certifications: Must have certifications: Current American Red Cross Lifeguard and First Aid, Current local Pool Operator's Certification. (Lifeguard Instructor Certification desirable)
Experience: We are looking for experience teaching and working with children.
Previous experience in classroom teaching, fieldwork, or a minimum of three (3) years of ESF experience.
Previous experience working with children in a camp setting is preferred.
Hours: Typically, 4 days/week, 8:00am-5:00pm; 1 day/week, 8:00am-6:00pm; Monday-Friday
Schedule Commitment: Any schedule changes must be pre-approved by the site director.
Required Training: Complete all required ESF and state-mandated training and onboarding.
Dress Code: Maintain the "ESF Look" (camp uniform) and embody the spirit of the camp.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Lead, Teach & Inspire: Lead and manage your team.
Be present at the pool at all times.
Implement ESF Aquatics program and curriculum. Ensure aquatics team members bring swim lessons to life for campers through participation, support, and guidance.
Ongoing teaching and developing team members in swim instruction and lifeguarding.
Lead meetings with the Team and coordinate their daily schedules.
Conduct Team Member evaluations.
Swimming Program
Implement and oversee daily swim instruction to campers ages 3-14 at various skill levels.
Ensure that weekly progress reports and other required paperwork are completed.
Pool Operations:
Implement and oversee proper pool procedures for opening, water quality (testing, chlorine, etc.), and closing.
Record incidents concerning the pool.
Perform and oversee pool maintenance duties.
Safety & Teambuilding:
Ensure the safety and well-being of campers and staff in the pool area with emphasis on positive behavior and effective group management.
Conduct in-service trainings 3-5x/week in pool safety, lifeguarding, and swim instruction, emphasizing teamwork.
Promptly report any concerns to the Site Director.
Be the Ultimate Role Model: Supervise team members and campers, while fostering a positive and safe environment.
Demonstrate ESF Core Values & Code daily, from "Gratitude" to "Bring It" daily.
Model the ESF Virtues of Character (Gratitude, Respect, Trustworthiness, Effort, Kindness, Positivity, Resilience, Community) in camp daily.
Adhere to all company policies.
Communication: Maintain clear, concise, and engaging communication with campers, families, peers, and team members.
