Senior Transportation Engineer – SB 1 Program Portfolio EngineerUnder the direction of the Supervising Transportation Engineer, you will serve as a key technical leader supporting California's Senate Bill (SB 1) transportation improvement program, which funds critical projects that enhance highways, roads, bridges, and other transportation infrastructure statewide.Your responsibilities include:Developing and improving processes, guidance, standards, and tools that support the delivery of SB 1‑funded projects.Providing engineering expertise to solve complex transportation challenges.Working closely with Caltrans districts, partner agencies, and stakeholders statewide to provide technical guidance.Supporting performance‑measurement efforts and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, consistently, and in accordance with program requirements.Influencing statewide transportation investments and advancing Caltrans' commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Senior Transportation Engineer exam.
