Title: Calibration Technician
Duration: 8 Months
Location: On-site at Medina, NY

Ability to work 5:30 AM-2 PM and 8:30 AM -5 PM

Overtime as needed

Description:

I. SUMMARY:

  • This document outlines the employment prerequisites and job responsibilities for the Senior Calibration Technician position.

II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • This position is responsible for ensuring that electrical, electronic, mechanical, and analytical measuring equipment meets industry standards.
  • Responsible for testing and calibrating indicating and recording equipment so they give proper readings.
  • Responsible for maintaining equipment, troubleshooting equipment (to the component level) and repairing any damage.
  • Operate various electronic meters and test equipment
  • Read blueprints, schematics and follow written instructions.
  • Coordinate scheduling and interface between external calibration vendors resolves issues and maintains proper communication and reports.
  • Able to perform tasks assigned with minimal supervision
  • Ability to use various software packages such as MS Excel, Word, and Access Databases
  • Perform other duties as assigned

III. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Good math and reading skills
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Basic mechanical ability and understanding
  • Knowledge of:
    • anti-static precautions for working with static sensitive electronic components
    • working safely with electricity
  • Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Medical Device Regulations
  • Ability to learn the functions of infusion pumps and its various configurations.

IV. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2 years of College, Technical Trade School or US Military training in electronics is preferred
  • Working experience in calibration or related work preferred.
  • Working experience in medical devices or related industry preferred.

V. PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Able to sit and stand throughout the day.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Dynamic Lifting capability: Must have the ability to lift and carry 15 pounds from floor to shoulder and lift 2 pounds from shoulder to overhead. Must also have the capability to push and pull a maximum force of 6 pounds.

This is a manufacturing environment regulated by the FDA and many other work rules to prevent damage to the product we manufacture. Some of those work rules include but are not limited to:

  • Wearing a static protective smock at all times while in the manufacturing/production area.
  • Wearing a ground wrist strap and plugging that wrist strap into the working table.
  • Working in close proximity to other employees.
  • Working in an environment that is temperature and humidity controlled.
  • Non-routine exposure to de-greasers, oils, electronic equipment cleaners
