What to Expect

Tesla is seeking a skilled individual with expertise in calibration programs and technical quality processes to join the Cell Manufacturing Team at Gigafactory Texas in Austin. As a Calibration Technician, you will play a critical role within the Cell Manufacturing Quality Organization, supporting daily operations of the calibration program and aiding the production team in a 24x7 manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

  • Execute the calibration program for all inspection, test, and measuring equipment in a 24x7 manufacturing setting

  • Perform calibration, repair, diagnostics, and modification of industrial process control instrumentation for cell manufacturing lines at Gigafactory Texas, while managing related technical documentation and procedures

  • Review calibration test results and certificates for accuracy

  • Train equipment owners on the use of the calibration program

  • Communicate the status of calibrated equipment to owners, including TPM activity, tracking total cost of ownership, and alerting stakeholders to repeat tool failures

  • Manage tools requiring external repair/calibration by scheduling on-site and off-site calibrations, creating service contracts, maintaining certification documentation, and addressing issues during external calibrations

  • Support Tesla's mission, vision, values, and goals through daily activities

What You'll Bring

  • 2+ years of experience in calibration laboratories or quality operations roles

  • Knowledge and working experience with ISO 17025 standards

  • Understanding and application of control plans

  • Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematics

  • Strong technical quality support and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment

  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize in a dynamic production setting

  • Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal

Essential Physical Demands:

  • Capable of lifting 50lbs. with no physical limitations of your hands, back, or legs
