This position works out of our Altavista, VA location in the Abbott Nutrition division. Our Nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow to keeping adult bodies strong and active. What You’ll Work On
Organize/coordinate calibration program
Act as primary liaison with Corporate Metrology to the division/site
Monitor/control calibration program policy and procedures and verify other requirements are met.
Review/approve calibration specifications against product/process specifications (e.g. assigned accuracy, tolerances, calibration interval, etc.).
Knowledge of Plant operation and requirements
Knowledge of Quality systems
Assist equipment owners with selection, inclusion/exclusion into the calibration program and instrument specification criteria
Track/trend calibration status and metrics for management review/reporting
Review/write OOT (Out of Tolerance) investigations and related corrective/preventative actions
Address Past due Out of Tolerance Report
Track out of tolerance reports for closure in 30 days
Document meeting minutes, action lists, and open issues.
Responsible for project planning and execution by coordinating activities across all the departments for the success and timely implementation of change to product, meeting Division business strategies.
Document and coordinate instruments that require calibration with outside vendors.
Define, plan, coordinate and integrate activities associated with upgrades/changes to existing products and instrumentations.
Responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of the quality system.
Participate in the development of the corrective action that relates to calibration identified because of an ER/CAPA or audit investigation.
Perform other duties as assigned by management
You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
Technical Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and work experience (this is reasonable)
Minimum 2 years of calibration or related experience
Knowledge of program management tools such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Maximo, and Cognos
Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.

The base pay for this position is
$29.55 – $59.05/hourIn specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
