Departmental Objective

In addition, Dining Services aspires to provide high levels of excellence and professionalism in rendering superior customer-focused services to students, faculty, staff, guests, and visitors of the University, with close attention to detail and with a caring and concerned approach, targeted at delivering outstanding results in serving customer needs and achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.

Purpose of the Position

This position is responsible for cash and card sales in the Café. Responsible for actual hands-on preparation of menu items to include but not limited to baked goods, brunch items, sandwiches, salads, coffees and other beverages. Responsible for closing the facility and clean-up. Ensuring high quality food and beverage with emphasis on exemplary customer service. This position is also responsible for supervising student employees in the absence of the manager. With prior notice, it may assist and/or independently runs concessions events to include, but not limited to: football, baseball, softball, lacrosse, volleyball, basketball, track, Commencement, non-CNU athletic rentals and other events as required.

  • Must be able to work posted Café hours and be available to assist with any special events require the Café to be open. This includes but is not limited to normal hours of operations, evening or weekend events and overnight during our 24/7 periods before and during exam week.

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education and experience that equates to a high school diploma

Experience:

  • Experience in the food service industry

Role Code 79111 Salary Information Starting at $15.71 per hour, Commensurate with Education and Experience CNU Information Conditions of Employment

  • This is an HOURLY position and does NOT entitle the incumbent to Commonwealth of Virginia benefits and is limited to 1500 hours in a 365-day period.
  • Selected candidate will be required to attend a 2-Day New Employee Orientation Program.
  • Must be able to work posted Café hours and be available to assist with any special events require the Café to be open. This includes but is not limited to normal hours of operations, evening or weekend events and overnight during our 24/7 periods before and during exam week.
