CAFETERIA MANAGER

TITLE: CAFETERIA MANAGER

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Good physical condition

  2. Skilled in food service practices

  3. A high school diploma/GED diploma

  4. Enroll in and complete the 3 food service courses for

cafeteria manager

  1. Louisiana Manager Certification

  2. Ability to assume responsibility for the total food

service program at the assigned school

  1. Annual physical examination

REPORTS TO: Principal

SUPERVISES: School Food Service Personnel at assigned school

JOB GOAL: To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an

atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and warmth

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Supervises food preparation and service and assists wherever possible

  2. Supervises and instructs food service personnel in the safe, proper, and efficient

use of all kitchen equipment

  1. Maintains the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the lunchroom

  2. Receives and verifies food and supply deliveries

  3. Determines quantities of each food to be prepared daily

  4. Selects and requisitions food, equipment, and supplies and maintains a current

inventory

  1. Maintains adequate records, prepares required reports and turns forms in on time

  2. Cooperates with school officials and parents in developing desirable relationships

  3. Maintains file of food distribution receipts for U.S.D.A. donated food received

and checked

  1. Reports immediately to principal any problem or accident occurring in the kitchen

or the cafeteria premises

  1. Confers with Principal and Supervisor of School Food Services regarding any

personnel problems

  1. Reports to Principal and Supervisor of School Food Services any faulty or inferior

quality food which is received

  1. Supervises the daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment, the washing and

sterilization of all dishes, silverware and utensils

  1. Plans menus, when applicable, and provides recipes

  2. Supervises receiving and storage of all supplies

  3. Observes parish policies regarding punctuality and absenteeism

  4. Abides by rules and regulations found in the St. Martin Parish Policy Handbook

  5. Assumes other related responsibilities as assigned by the Principal

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine months, Monday through Friday,
