QUALIFICATIONS:
Good physical condition
Skilled in food service practices
A high school diploma/GED diploma
Enroll in and complete the 3 food service courses for
cafeteria manager
Louisiana Manager Certification
Ability to assume responsibility for the total food
service program at the assigned school
REPORTS TO: Principal
SUPERVISES: School Food Service Personnel at assigned school
JOB GOAL: To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an
atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and warmth
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises food preparation and service and assists wherever possible
Supervises and instructs food service personnel in the safe, proper, and efficient
use of all kitchen equipment
Maintains the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the lunchroom
Receives and verifies food and supply deliveries
Determines quantities of each food to be prepared daily
Selects and requisitions food, equipment, and supplies and maintains a current
inventory
Maintains adequate records, prepares required reports and turns forms in on time
Cooperates with school officials and parents in developing desirable relationships
Maintains file of food distribution receipts for U.S.D.A. donated food received
and checked

Plans menus, when applicable, and provides recipes
Supervises receiving and storage of all supplies

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine months, Monday through Friday,
