Position Title: Food Delivery Driver
Job Classification: 10-month employee
Reports to: Cafeteria Manager
Pay: $19.00 per hour
Position Summary:
Following the lead of the Cafeteria Manager, the Food Delivery Driver is responsible for the timely transportation and delivery of breakfast and lunch items between schools within WeTeachTruth Lutheran Education. This individual supports the smooth operation of the cafeteria program through effective communication, safe driving practices, and assistance with additional kitchen and cafeteria duties as needed.

Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Familiarity with local streets and neighborhoods
- Ability to routinely lift and carry up to 35 pounds
- Ability to work independently in a timely and efficient manner
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Reliability and punctuality
- Ability to interact professionally and courteously with students and staff in a school setting
Essential Job Functions:
- Communicate regularly with Cafeteria Staff regarding delivery schedules and transportation of breakfast and lunch items
- Pick up and deliver food and cafeteria items between schools within WeTeachTruth Lutheran Education
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of all assigned items
- Maintain daily communication logs documenting deliveries, delivery times, and any questions or concerns
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and school transportation procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicles and delivery areas
- Assist cafeteria staff with general cleaning and dishwashing duties as needed
- Support kitchen and cafeteria operations by assisting where additional help is necessary
- Demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, and positive communication with students, staff, and visitors
- Communicate with supervisor at the end of each shift regarding daily operations or concerns
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday
- Ability to routinely lift and transport items weighing up to 35 pounds
- Ability to safely operate a delivery vehicle in various weather conditions
Work Environment
This position operates within school cafeteria kitchens, school facilities, and delivery vehicles. The employee will regularly travel between the WeTeachTruth schools and may be exposed to varying weather conditions during deliveries.
