The Role: We are seeking a highly motivated CADD/BIM Technician to support the design and coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems for a variety of commercial and institutional projects. This role is responsible for developing accurate drawings and BIM models while collaborating with designers, engineers and project teams to deliver high-quality, coordinated designs in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) software to develop and produce accurate floor plans, riser diagrams, details, isometric views, schedules, and sectional drawings.
  • Apply company drafting standards, procedures, and BIM best practices in the preparation and coordination of project drawings.
  • Interpret and prepare drawings from detailed redlines, markups, sketches, and engineering/designer direction.
  • Maintain organized electronic project files in accordance with company network filing systems and project directory structures.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of core BIM commands and modeling tools to support project production requirements.
  • Set up drawing sheets and layouts using proper BIM techniques, including title blocks, north arrows, view titles, annotations, and related project information as directed by Project Managers, Engineers, or Designers.
  • Update and coordinate background drawings and reference files received from clients and external consultants.
  • Operate plotters, scanners, and other document reproduction equipment to support project documentation and deliverables.
  • Prepare, package, and distribute project documents and electronic files to clients, owners, contractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Support project teams by ensuring drawing accuracy, consistency, and adherence to project schedules and quality standards.
Requirements

Qualifications & Experience
  • Two-year degree or certification from a trade school or technical school preferred or equivalent years of experience in Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing CADD and BIM systems
  • Solid understanding of math and science as well as understanding of their technical specialty
  • AutoCAD certification and/or BIM/REVIT certification preferred
  • Intermediate level working with Microsoft Word and Excel
