CAD Designer Solidworks - TX - July 2025 - 0109
Our client, a leader in aircraft interior and lighting modifications, is seeking a Reverse Engineering CAD Designer to support ongoing aerospace projects in Texas. The role involves using SolidWorks to modify and recreate component designs, with a focus on accuracy and compliance. Proficiency in SolidWorks is preferred, and experience in the aerospace industry is a strong plus.
Jobs Roles & Responsibilities
Reverse engineer aircraft components and assemblies using SolidWorks and other 3D CAD tools to produce accurate models and technical drawings.
Create and modify 3D CAD models and 2D drawings of interior components, lighting systems, and structural parts for aircraft.
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design accuracy and compliance with FAA standards.
Assist in supplier coordination, including design reviews, production support, and process optimization.
Participate in technical investigations to evaluate emerging technologies and improve design approaches.
Perform verification tasks to ensure models and designs meet engineering and regulatory requirements.
Work under general supervision, delivering quality designs within project deadlines.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Minimum 4 years of experience in 3D modeling with SolidWorks (reverse engineering focus preferred).
Strong background in aerospace structures, design criteria, and material properties.
Hands-on experience with reverse engineering tools, such as 3D scanning or measuring equipment, is a plus.
Knowledge of FAA regulations and documentation processes is highly desirable.
Proficient in MS Office Suite and standard business software.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage project timelines.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
