Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Technician Level I to join our team supporting structured cabling and low-voltage system installations. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals eager to learn the trade and grow in the telecommunications and construction industry.
Technicians work under direct supervision to develop skills in proper installation methods, safety practices, and workmanship standards based on BICSI guidelines. This role is focused on learning and executing tasks correctly—not working independently.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with installation of copper cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A)
- Support fiber optic cable installation projects
- Pull, route, and secure cables according to industry standards
- Maintain proper cable bend radius and tension
- Install supports such as J-hooks, cable trays, and conduit systems
- Dress and organize cables neatly and professionally
- Follow all safety procedures and job site requirements
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and accept feedback
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working on ladders and lifts (training provided)
Preferred:
- Experience in construction or structured cabling
- Interest in pursuing BICSI certification
- OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to obtain)
