Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Technician to support structured cabling installations within a data center environment. This role involves installing, routing, and terminating CAT6 cabling, working at heights, and navigating cable pathways such as basket trays and conduit systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, technical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pull, route, and terminate CAT6 cabling in a data center environment
- Install and secure cabling through basket trays, conduit, and other structured pathways
- Perform cable terminations, labeling, and testing to ensure proper connectivity and performance
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and installation diagrams
- Maintain clean and organized cable management practices
- Operate lifts and work safely at heights up to 18 feet
- Follow all site safety protocols and company procedures
- Troubleshoot and resolve cabling issues as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience pulling and terminating CAT6 cable
- Proven experience working within data centers or similar technical environments
- Experience running cable through basket tray systems and conduit
- Comfortable working at heights up to 18 feet
- Ability to operate lifts safely (lift certification preferred)
- Strong understanding of structured cabling standards and best practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Lift certification (scissor lift, boom lift, etc.)
- Experience with cable testing tools and certification equipment
- Familiarity with data center protocols and environments
Work Environment:
- Data center setting with strict safety and operational procedures
- Frequent standing, climbing, and working at elevated heights
- May require lifting, bending, and physical activity throughout the shift
