    Description

    RIGHTECH is working with a national integrator, that has a national retail services structured cabling deployment project.

    This project is supporting "just walk out " stores that are completely automated. We are responsible for all of the network cabling, networking devices and cameras in these retail locations.


    Job Title: Cable Technician
    Duration: Two weeks
    Start Date: Monday, August 10th
    Job Description:
    • Structured Cable
      • Run, terminate, and test CAT 5 and CAT 6 cables according to industry standards.
      • Dress and route cable into device locations.
      • Cable pathway installation (J-hooks, uni-strut, ladder rack).
      • Cable management (dressing, labeling).
      • Cable Termination RJ-45/Modular Plug).
      • Patching work in preconfigured MDF cabinets.
    • Drilling and Mounting
      • Drill and securely mount cameras
    • Ladder Work
      • Safely work on ladders to install and maintain equipment at heights.
    • Documentation
      • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including cable runs, installations, and troubleshooting steps.
      • Read and follow blueprints set for installation.
    • Networking:
      • Basic Networking experience to get devices online in a wireless network environment
      • Strong PC skills
      • Troubleshooting experience
    • Safety Compliance:
      • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
    Qualifications:
    • Strong knowledge of low voltage copper cabling
    • Ability to work on ladders and overhead
    • Basic understanding of cabling infrastructure.
    • Strong customer service experience
      • You work directly with the end users
    • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently and efficiently.
    • Good communication skills to interact with team members and clients.
    • Knowledge of setting up network devices including cameras and access points
    • Knowledge of safety practices related to working with electrical equipment, ladders, and power tools
    Required PPE: Hard Hat, safety vest, work gloves, safety glasses, hard toe boots.

    • Pliers (needle nose and channel locks)
    • Cable stripper

    • Various sizes of wood, metal and masonry drill bits
    • Various sizes and types of driver bits
