Role Summary:
As a Cabinet maker at Noovo, you will be an integral part of our manufacturing process, creating and assembling high-quality wooden components for our campervans. You’ll work closely with our production team to ensure that every piece meets Noovo’s high standards of craftsmanship and quality. A 'skills test' or general assessment of skill may be evaluated during the course of the interview.
Key Responsibilities:
Carpentry and Assembly:
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wooden components for campervans based on design specifications.
- Work with various types of wood and materials, ensuring precision and attention to detail in all tasks.
- Use hand and power tools to carry out carpentry work efficiently and safely.
- Install wood fixtures, such as cabinetry, shelves, flooring, and panels, ensuring they are securely built and aligned with the overall design.
Quality Control:
- Ensure all wooden components and finished assemblies meet Noovo’s high quality standards.
- Conduct inspections to identify and correct any defects or issues before they affect the overall product.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all equipment and materials are safely stored.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with the production team and Operations Director to ensure timely and high-quality completion of carpentry tasks.
- Communicate effectively with the team to resolve any challenges during production.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety standards and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of all carpentry tools and equipment.
Continuous Improvement:
- Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest carpentry techniques and industry trends to apply them in your work.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of craftsmanship.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience required.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changes in the work process.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
- Good time-management skills to ensure tasks are completed on schedule.
Hard Skills:
- Proven experience as a carpenter, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Proficiency in the use of carpentry tools and equipment, including hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of carpentry materials, techniques, and best practices.
- Understanding of safety protocols in a workshop setting.
Compensation:
- $18.00 - $23.00 per hour depending on experience.
