Our firm is seeking a dynamic and experienced Paralegal/Legal Assistant for a contract-to-hire position. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to join a vibrant legal team on a project basis, with the potential for permanent employment.

Responsibilities:

The Paralegal/Legal Assistant will be responsible for providing high-quality legal support to our team. Key duties include:

1. Assisting attorneys with all aspects of insurance coverage and civil litigation cases.
2. Using Clio, NetDocs, Adobe Acrobat, and Neos for case management, ensuring that all case information is accurate and up-to-date.
3. E-filing documents on the state level, ensuring all filings are accurate and timely.
4. Verifying liens and conducting prelitigation tasks to prepare for potential legal proceedings.
5. Conducting legal research and drafting legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests and responses, and motions.
6. Coordinating with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals to schedule meetings, hearings, and depositions.
7. Maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following qualifications:

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant, preferably within the insurance coverage and civil litigation sectors.
2. Proficiency in using legal software such as Clio, NetDocs, Adobe Acrobat, and Neos.
3. Experience with e-filing on the state level.
4. Proven ability to verify liens and perform prelitigation tasks.
5. Excellent research and writing skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents.
6. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
7. Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals.
8. A high degree of discretion and confidentiality.
9. Paralegal certification or equivalent experience.
