The role involves effectively handling purchase orders, managing inventory movements, and ensuring seamless interoffice documentation. Daily interaction with various departments is essential. Responsibilities include organizing and executing product transfers between locations and managing local collections, all while complying with transportation regulations and maintaining safety standards. A key dual responsibility involves updating transactions within our ERP system while providing exceptional communication throughout these processes. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Validate purchase orders and coordinate with the sales team for accurate pickups.
- Liaise with Inventory and Warehouse Managers regarding product status and location.
- Conduct pre and post-trip safety inspections and ensure vehicle cleanliness.
- Maintain compliance with DOT, inspection, and registration standards.
- Perform additional inventory and warehouse duties as needed.
- Complete fuel documentation and manage the inter-office mail system.
- Operate trucks and forklifts for transferring items and processing orders.
- Ensure completeness of order transfers daily and communicate potential issues to supervisors.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent ability to comprehend and articulate instructions effectively.
- Forklift certification required.
- Must obtain a CDL license within six months if not already held.
- Physically able to lift up to 100 lbs and capable of enduring variable weather conditions.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills needed.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and ERP systems preferred.
- Must have a clean New York State driver's license.
- 1-2 years of previous delivery and 2-3 years of forklift operation experience preferred.
- Familiarity with construction materials is advantageous.
