Position Summary
The Senior Buyer / Component Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient supply of components needed to support finished goods production. This role executes MRP-driven purchasing and planning activities, manages supplier coordination, maintains accurate ERP data, and proactively mitigates supply risks to support operational efficiency and on-time delivery performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute MRP-driven purchasing and component planning to support finished goods production schedules
- Issue and manage purchase orders, monitor open orders, and coordinate delivery timing with suppliers and planners
- Proactively manage inventory levels, identify supply risks, and expedite materials to prevent production disruptions
- Maintain accurate planning parameters and master data (lead times, reorder points, safety stock) in ERP systems
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, fillers, sourcing, and quality teams to support on-time delivery
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in purchasing, supply planning, or component planning within manufacturing or CPG environments
- Strong working knowledge of MRP systems and ERP platforms (ABAS preferred)
- Proven ability to manage supplier performance, inventory levels, and production support activities
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- APICS, CPIM, CSCP, CPSM, or other related supply chain certifications preferred
