    Location: Detroit, MI (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite)
    Duration: Long-Term Contract
    Schedule: Monday–Friday | 40 Hours per Week

    About the Opportunity
    Our client is seeking a Buyer I to join their Supply Chain Procurement team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career procurement professional looking to build experience in purchasing, supplier management, contract administration, and strategic sourcing within a large corporate environment.
    The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with vendors, contracts, and procurement systems while supporting multiple internal business partners.

    What You'll Do
    • Purchase materials, equipment, rentals, and professional services in accordance with company procurement policies and procedures.
    • Prepare purchase orders, contracts, and change orders while ensuring compliance with purchasing standards.
    • Develop Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and support the competitive bidding process.
    • Assist with contract implementation and administration, including master service agreements.
    • Review and process supplier documentation and prequalification requirements.
    • Verify invoices and supporting documentation for contracted labor and milestone-based payments within SAP.
    • Monitor vendor performance and coordinate with suppliers to expedite material and service delivery.
    • Resolve supplier and material quality issues while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
    • Compile, analyze, and report procurement data using various computer systems.
    • Maintain procurement records and ensure accurate filing of source documentation.
    • Support Category Managers and senior Buyers with sourcing initiatives and contract development.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet procurement priorities and project timelines.
    What We're Looking For
    • Bachelor's degree required.
    • Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred.
    • 1–3 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience.
    • Strong negotiation and vendor relationship skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer systems.
    • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience supporting procurement or supply chain operations.
    • Familiarity with contract administration and supplier management.
    • Experience reviewing invoices and purchase orders.
    • Knowledge of procurement best practices and sourcing processes.
    Work Environment
    • Hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite each week in Detroit, MI.
    • Candidates should reside within commuting distance of Detroit.
    • Standard Monday–Friday schedule, 40 hours per week.
