Position Overview
Ultimate Staffing is actively seeking a Junior Buyer/Expeditor for a reputable client located in Scotts Valley, CA. Responsibilities
- Keep track of inventory levels and ensure products are available at competitive prices.
- Evaluate supplier performance and maintain records of current and potential suppliers.
- Write purchase orders and oversee the progress of shipments.
- Arrange shipping costs and support senior buyers with purchase orders.
- Send open-order reports to suppliers and contact them regularly with prioritized items.
- Analyze MRP requirements versus purchase orders.
- Determine manufacturing constraints and resolve due date issues on parts.
- Facilitate materials receipts to support linear shipments to customers throughout the month.
- Report findings to Materials Management.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills.
- Competent negotiator with persistence.
- Professional appearance, behavior, and work ethic.
- Computer literacy, including MS Office, Excel, and MRP systems.
- Ability to work well with others in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to multitask while continuously meeting deadlines.
- College degree or some experience preferred but not required for the right candidate.
