We are seeking a Business Systems Manager to serve as the primary owner and strategic leader of our Viewpoint Vista ERP environment. This individual will act as a key partner to the Director of Business Systems and become the organization's second-in-command for enterprise business systems initiatives.
This role requires a unique blend of strategic leadership and hands-on technical expertise. The ideal candidate will have deep experience administering and optimizing Vista ERP within a construction environment while partnering with Operations, Finance, Accounting, HR, and IT leadership to drive business transformation, process improvement, reporting, and technology strategy.
The successful candidate will own the Vista ecosystem, influence enterprise systems strategy, lead cross-functional initiatives, and ensure business systems effectively support the company's growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
ERP Ownership & Business Systems Leadership (35%)
- Own and optimize the Viewpoint Vista ERP platform and related business applications.
- Serve as the primary business and technical leader for Vista strategy, administration, governance, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and execute the business systems roadmap aligned with organizational growth and operational priorities.
- Partner with executive leadership to identify technology opportunities that improve efficiency and business outcomes.
- Act as a trusted advisor on ERP capabilities, best practices, and future-state solutions.
- Support the Director of Business Systems as a key strategic partner and leadership resource.
Business Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Partnership (30%)
- Partner closely with Operations, Accounting, Finance, HR, and IT leaders to evaluate and improve business processes.
- Identify opportunities for automation, workflow optimization, and system-driven efficiencies.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions.
- Lead system enhancement initiatives from requirements gathering through implementation and adoption.
- Drive organizational change management and user adoption efforts.
Reporting, Analytics & Data Management (20%)
- Oversee enterprise reporting solutions utilizing Vista, SQL, Crystal Reports, and Power BI.
- Develop executive dashboards, KPIs, and operational reporting capabilities.
- Ensure data integrity, reporting accuracy, and actionable business insights.
- Support financial reporting, audits, compliance requirements, and strategic decision making.
ERP Administration, Support & Integrations (15%)
- Manage Vista configuration, security, workflows, system performance, and ongoing maintenance.
- Oversee integrations between Vista and third-party applications.
- Provide escalation support for complex system issues.
- Lead user training, documentation, vendor management, and support processes.
- Ensure system reliability, security, compliance, and scalability.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience administering and supporting Viewpoint Vista ERP.
- Proven experience owning and managing an enterprise ERP environment.
- Strong knowledge of Vista configuration, security, workflows, reporting, and business processes.
- Experience with SQL reporting tools and Crystal Reports.
- Experience partnering with Finance, Accounting, Operations, HR, and IT stakeholders.
- Experience leading system enhancements, upgrades, implementations, and process improvement initiatives.
- Ability to operate effectively at both strategic and hands-on technical lev
