Business Systems Analyst

SEIU Local 1000 is a cutting-edge labor union representing approximately 96,000 state employees throughout California. We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst for our IT Department in Sacramento, CA who will perform duties of a highly technical nature involving project/process management and the operation of the business systems programs. This position is the primary administrator and analyst for COMPASS, our Microsoft Dynamics CRM platform, while also driving data reporting strategy and database development initiatives.

Duties: Working independently as a high-level technical specialist, analyzing data, processes, work-flow and system interactions, identifying problems, reasoning logically, drawing valid conclusions, and developing effective solutions.

Advising and training staff and members on matters regarding use of business systems services and technical data needs; providing quality controls for routine computer services, including the coordination and functionality.

Coordinating the work of support staff.

Performing other related duties as required.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities: Advanced proficiency in SQL including complex query development, stored procedures, and performance optimization

Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM or similar CRM platforms

Strong working knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Report Builder

Experience with Visual Studio for database and report development

Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau

Understanding of data architecture principles and reporting best practices

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine customer service orientation

Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Strong collaboration skills and a team-first mindset

Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently

Curious problem-solver who takes initiative and ownership

Eligibility: Education: Equivalent to graduation from college.

Experience: Three (3) years of experience in fiscal, management, insurance or research fields or two (2) years as a research assistant or administrative technician at Local 1000.

Note: Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for maximum of four (4) years of the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Benefits: The salary range for this position is $74,820 to $108,072 annually.
