The Business Systems Analyst serves as the primary liaison between the IM Division and assigned business units, combining product ownership, business systems analysis, and project coordination responsibilities. This role partners closely with business stakeholders to identify needs, define and refine business and technical requirements, manage a prioritized product backlog, triage ad hoc requests, and lead the delivery of high-impact solutions.
Additional responsibilities include data and process mapping, detailed documentation, vendor coordination, and the preparation of structured updates for IM leadership. This hybrid position requires onsite work in Long Beach two to three days per week, with remote work performed during Pacific Time business hours. Fully remote arrangements may be considered only when a workplace accommodation is required. The role involves extended periods of sitting, standing, and computer-based activity, as well as occasional travel for onsite meetings, training sessions, and workshops.

Key Responsibilities- Act as the primary liaison between the IM Division and assigned Division(s), serving as the single point of contact for all information technology-related needs.
- Develop strategic and collaborative relationships with business stakeholders by proactively identifying needs, building trust, and ensuring responsive and professional engagement.
- Conduct regular stakeholder check-ins to review work in progress, identify emerging priorities, and align expectations.
- Maintain and continuously refine a dynamic, prioritized backlog of requests, sequencing work based on urgency, business impact, and available capacity.
- Lead the delivery of key initiatives, serving as both the Business Systems Analyst and Technical Product Owner from initial scoping through implementation.
- Triage and coordinate the resolution of incoming issues and ad hoc requests, including data discrepancies and reporting fixes, in collaboration with subject matter experts and technical teams.
- Provide clear and timely updates to IM leadership, including dashboards, progress reports, and executive-ready briefings.
- Translate evolving business needs into actionable plans while balancing long-term product strategy with short-term service delivery requirements.
- Plan and execute initiatives using structured PMO frameworks and/or Agile methodologies, depending on the project.
- Manage timelines, deliverables, dependencies, and resources throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Monitor project scope, budget, and quality, escalating risks and issues to governance teams when appropriate.
- Provide consistent progress reporting and maintain transparent communication with stakeholders and leadership.
- Translate business challenges into clear, structured, and traceable functional and technical requirements.
- Facilitate discovery sessions, process-mapping exercises, and stakeholder interviews to document current-state workflows and define solution requirements.
- Partner with business units to establish measurable success criteria and support adoption planning.
- Ensure technical deliverables meet business expectations through proactive alignment, review, and validation.
- Serve as the communication link between business users, developers, and executive leadership, ensuring shared understanding across all groups.
- Lead requirements walkthroughs, demonstrations, and working sessions to build alignment and gather feedback.
- Communicate priorities, limitations, risks, and trade-offs in a clear and audience-appropriate manner.
- Manage vendor participation throughout the delivery lifecycle, including design, development, implementation, and ongoing support.
- Monitor vendor deliverables, timelines, and risks, escalating concerns proactively.
- Assist with software procurement, license renewals, and contract negotiations as needed.
- Maintain a RAID log covering risks, actions, issues, and decisions to support transparency and accountability.
- Participate in change-control and governance processes to ensure appropriate oversight.
- Proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate delivery risks, issues, and blockers.
QualificationsRequired:- Ten to fifteen years of progressive experience in hybrid roles involving product ownership, business systems analysis, and project deliver
