Job Description
The Workforce Development Department of the County of San Bernardino has an exciting opportunity for a Business Services Manager to provide business and workforce development assistance within the County by providing services to employers, serving as a point of contact to assist large businesses and corporations in addressing employment and enhancement opportunities. This position will represent the department with business partners and other county agencies and divisions, provide Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act services in conjunction with Americas Job Centers of California, and act as a liaison between private businesses, local governments, state, and/or federal agencies.

- Assisting large and small businesses and corporations to improve recruitment, retention, and professional growth of their workforce
- Providing technical assistance to large businesses and corporations on retention and expansion issues
- Coordinating the implementation of workforce development programs between businesses, community organizations, training facilities, and other agencies
- Acting as liaison with representatives from private businesses, local Governments, state and/or federal agencies

About the Department
The San Bernardino County Workforce Development Department (WDD) operates programs under the guidance of the Workforce Development Board, funded by the Department of Labor's Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). The America's Job Centers of California (AJCCs) are strategically located in the East Valley, West Valley and High Desert Regions of the County. WDD implements comprehensive strategies to meet the needs of local businesses for a skilled workforce, while creating opportunities for workers to prepare for and enter into well paid careers.

Conditions of Employment
- Pre-Employment Process: Applicants must pass a background investigation, which includes fingerprinting and physical exam prior to appointment.
- Travel: A valid California Class C Driver License is required to carry out the essential job-related functions of this position. Mileage reimbursement and proof of automobile liability insurance must be maintained.
- Work Schedule: Evening and weekend work may be required on occasion.

Minimum Requirements
- Education: A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in business/public administration, social/behavioral science, or other relevant field of study.
- Experience: Two (2) years of professional-level experience with the primary duty of contacting businesses to provide business-related services; experience should be in-person contacts, including presentations specifically targeted to that business; experience should also include budget/fiscal-related responsibilities. Experience must include one (1) year of full-scope supervision experience over support staff.
Desired Qualifications
- Customer service focused with keen communication and interpersonal skills.
- Public speaking experience, including presentation development and delivery, is highly desirable.
