Business Manager

Gentle Dental – Sorrento Valley, San Diego, CA

$28.00–$35.00 per hour DOE plus additional bonus plan with targeted $5,000 in annual earnings

Working in partnership with the Director of Operations and Area Clinical Director, the Business Manager oversees the daily operations of the practice, develops and supports team members, and ensures an exceptional experience for every patient who walks through our doors.

Compensation

$24.00–$35.00 per hour.  Additional bonus plan with projected annual earnings of $5,000

What You'll Do

Lead and Develop Your Team

  • Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop non-clinical team members
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and patient-focused office culture
  • Monitor staffing levels, approve timesheets, and ensure training and licensing compliance
  • Partner with Human Resources to address employee relations matters, performance concerns, and staffing needs

Drive Office Performance

  • Analyze production, scheduling, and operational reports to achieve or exceed monthly goals
  • Identify opportunities to improve patient retention, operational efficiency, and overall office performance
  • Communicate key business metrics and performance results to the team
  • Support financial performance through effective scheduling, collections, and resource management

Deliver an Exceptional Patient Experience

  • Ensure every patient receives outstanding customer service from check-in to treatment completion
  • Resolve patient concerns and escalated situations with professionalism and compassion
  • Support patient understanding of treatment plans, insurance benefits, and financial arrangements
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on insurance plans, benefits, limitations, and exclusions

 

Oversee Daily Operations

Manage the day-to-day flow of the practice and proactively address operational challenges

  • Lead daily team huddles and collaborate closely with providers to optimize patient care and scheduling
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, dental regulations, and workplace safety requirements
  • Oversee administrative functions including cash management, payroll support, bookkeeping processes, and invoice administration
  • Provide front office support when needed, including scheduling, patient communications, insurance processing, and payment collection

 

Qualifications

 

Required

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with computer systems and business software
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional patient service and team leadership

Preferred

  • Dental, healthcare, or multi-site service industry management experience
  • Experience leading and developing teams
  • Denticon or QSI software experience
