Description

Position Purpose

The Business Manager provides support within the Mechanical Services business unit working closely with sales, other managers, dispatch and field personnel. This position will provide personnel supervision, data entry, report development, general oversite within various systems and serve as a liaison between the business unit, dispatch, other businesses, and accounting.

Pay Range: $100,000 - $130,000 plus potential profit share.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises project administrators, administrative staff and billing teams.
  • Manage, implement, and enforce, metrics for Service Management and Project Administration.
  • Maintain proper communication with the field, sales, and management personnel.
  • Provide training and guidance to others on company systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Verify all service work orders are completed and closed on a regular basis.
  • Provide suggestions to the service and operations managers concerning workflow and efficiency enhancements.
  • Monthly progress billings for projects.
  • Assist in monthly accounting software financial adjustments for projects.
  • Ensure that job tax schedules and certified payroll rates are correct and updated as necessary.
  • Issue subcontracts as required and review/approve their invoices.
  • Oversee purchasing and tracking of equipment and parts for services and projects.
  • Establish and maintain cordial and functional relationships with factories and suppliers.
  • Collect stock transfers from inventory and input to the accounting job cost system.
  • Provide general administrative support.
  • Provide technical and operational support, expertise, leadership, and accountability for the back-end support team.
  • Stand in for support team members in their absence.
  • Manage and advise on hiring, training, development, allocation, and performance assessment of personnel within areas of responsibility.
  • Mange current processes and procedures, while keeping the strategy and high-level goals of the company in mind.
  • The ability to anticipate potential blockers and bring recommendations to the Service Manager.
  • Organize and manage regular internal company events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2-year business degree and 7 plus years related work experience preferred including technical commercial building services or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer literacy with specific experience using MS Office Products Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess a strong accounting / financial background and the ability to interpret and develop financial statements and reports.
  • Ability to work with commercial new construction, retrofit, and service contracts.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and willingness to accept responsibility and accountability.
  • Possess good organizational and planning skills.
  • Experience leading and supervising administrative personnel.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. from floor to countertop and countertop to floor.
  • Routine sitting, lifting, bending, and kneeling.
