Job Description

DPR Construction is seeking a collaborative, detail-oriented Business Licensing & Compliance Administrator to join our Tax Department in Sacramento, CA. In this role, you'll help keep one of the nation's leading commercial builders operating across the country by managing business licensing, compliance, and tax support activities that directly enable our teams to pursue and deliver projects. This is more than an administrative role-you'll own critical processes, partner across departments, solve complex compliance challenges, and help improve how we work.

What You Will Do

  • Own and coordinate multi-state business licensing activities, including new applications, renewals, amendments, and jurisdictional research.
  • Actively monitor expiration dates to ensure compliance and resolve licensing questions
  • Provide administrative support for the Tax Department, including scheduling, mail processing, filing, document management, and other operational needs.
  • Manage departmental workflow, deadlines, and priorities using Microsoft 365, Monday.com, or similar tracking tools.
  • Support property tax filings across multiple companies and jurisdictions.
  • Prepare compliance dashboards and reports that provide leaders visibility into upcoming deadlines, risks, and licensing status.
  • Maintain accurate records, corporate documents, and compliance calendars while safeguarding confidential information.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes through automation, standardization, documentation, and technology.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and support audit readiness.

  • Build trusted relationships across DPR, Family of Companies, and with regulatory agencies.
  • Manage licensing activities accurately and on time across multiple entities & jurisdictions.
  • Improve visibility into compliance through organized reporting and tracking.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce risk.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of accounting, tax, compliance, licensing, or related administrative experience.
  • High attention to detail, sound judgment, integrity, and ownership.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a customer-service mindset.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, collaboration, and process improvement.
  • Experience handling confidential information professionally.
  • Experience with multi-state business licensing or corporate compliance.
  • Experience with Monday.com, Audit Manager, or similar workflow software.
  • Experience improving business processes, documentation, or reporting.

Anticipated starting pay range:

$26.00- $36.00
