Description Amazon is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to analyze marketing drivers and customer behavior for Prime Video content. This role supports a business critical to Amazon Prime subscriptions, and more specifically decision making on Prime Video content evaluations and marketing strategy. Key job responsibilities - Interacting with stakeholders (technical and non-technical) to understand primary use cases and questions. - Building data queries for ad hoc uses, dashboards, and deep-dive on data-pipeline. - Working with Data Engineers, Data scientists and Marketing media managers to provide data and insights for building Prime Video marketing measurement insights. - Managing cross organizational program for providing quality data for Prime Video Science models. Strong in communication and document writing for sharing regular updates on programs. A day in the life A typical day in this role provides opportunities for building innovative solutions with large-scale data tools, identifying high-priority work and projects that maximize results for key stakeholders, and solving complex problems that impact company-wide strategic decisions. - Gather detailed requirements from stakeholders to understand their manual processes and pain points. Serve as the liaison between the engineering team and Prime Video stakeholders. - Think creatively to identify opportunities to solve problems using technology-driven solutions. - Design and implement optimal automation solutions to address stakeholder needs. - Manage cross organizational Data programs. Respond to ad hoc requests, and communicate on program updates. - Run Tech prioritization mechanism, and write document for leadership review on program updates. About the team The Prime Video Science Tech (PVS Tech) team builds data and software products, tools and infrastructure to increase Prime Video efficiency in marketing measurements and content evaluations. We build complex data products to provide insights into customer segments worldwide and support scaled forecasting tools. We measure and forecasts the performance of our marketing campaigns, and how many new customers will our advertising spend drive. We collect diverse signals of marketing impressions and publish model outputs for driving key business decisions. We analyze key metrics that attract new Prime members. We build tools that measure the long-run value driven by customer engagement with our content. Basic Qualifications - 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience - 3+ years of SQL, ETL or Oracle experience - 3+ years of processing large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources experience - Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools - 3+ years of performing statistical analysis experience - 3+ years of developing automated reporting experience - Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the business - Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling Preferred Qualifications - Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift - Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
