Role Summary

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst is a key contributor in transforming complex data into meaningful insights that drive strategic decision-making across the organization. This senior-level, hands-on role is ideal for a data professional who excels at building scalable data models, developing impactful visualizations, and partnering with both technical teams and business leaders.

In this role, you will lead the design and development of enterprise-level BI solutions, ensuring data integrity, performance, and usability. You will serve as a trusted advisor on best practices, helping to shape data strategy and empower stakeholders with actionable insights.

Duties & Responsibilities

Design & Build Trusted Data Models

  • Design and implement high-performance data models using star and snowflake schemas

  • Develop structured relationships, hierarchies, and calculated measures

  • Ensure models are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise data standards

Develop Impactful Power BI Solutions

  • Build intuitive, interactive dashboards and reports that address key business needs

  • Utilize DAX and Power Query (M) to create advanced calculations and data transformations

  • Implement row-level security (RLS) and support workspace governance practices

Own the Power BI Architecture

  • Manage and optimize Power BI service components, including gateways and premium capacities

  • Integrate Power BI with enterprise data sources such as Azure Data Factory and SQL Server

  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards

Optimize Performance at Scale

  • Monitor and improve report performance and dataset refresh strategies

  • Apply best practices for incremental refresh, query folding, and large dataset optimization

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Partner with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver high-value insights

  • Provide guidance on Power BI adoption, workspace design, and governance frameworks

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor on BI standards and best practices

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
    (Candidates without a Bachelor’s degree must have 4+ years of relevant clinical or technical application experience in lieu of a degree)

  • Advanced experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service

  • Strong expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling principles

  • Experience with Power BI architecture, including gateways, deployment pipelines, and capacity planning

  • Experience with ETL processes, SQL, and data warehousing concepts

  • Solid understanding of data governance, security, and data management best practices
