Destinations Career Academy: Business & Information Technology Teacher Job Description
Purpose of Position
Destinations Career Academy is seeking a Business & Information Technology Teacher for a long-term sub position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Teaching duties including, but not limited to supervision of students, grading, assessing, lesson planning and implementation of district-aligned Career and Technical Education coursework • General management of virtual classrooms • Develop, implement, supervise, and analyze Experiential Learning activities aligned with this CTE pathway • Deliver dual credit coursework, as well as participate with all required trainings, meetings, and other professional development required by the Wisconsin Technical College System for participating educators • Committee participation and student support • Serve as a member of the Business and/or Information Technology Pathways Team • Serve as an integral member of the District CTE Team and content area sub teams by participating in required trainings, meetings and other professional development
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
• Bachelor's degree • 1250 - Business Education; 1280 - Business Education/Vocational
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Ability to teach in a hands-on, project-based environment • Ability to facilitate students in problem-solving strategies • Skilled in a computer-based environment • Familiarity with and commitment to use proper safety procedures that follow OSHA and other state requirements and certifications needed for business and information technology environments • Experience and proven success in incorporating Common Core State Standards (CCSS) within CTE coursework • Effective classroom management practices to facilitate learning in a virtual environment • Ability to work collaboratively with other Business & Information Technology and CTE teachers at both the district and school levels • Demonstrated commitment to supporting a strong/rigorous curriculum focused on preparing students for relevant technical careers in todays ever-changing workplace • Demonstrated desire and skills required to design programming and make recommendations for classes that will prepare students for competitive careers after high school • Training/experience with: • Incorporating computer technology skills in curriculum • Use of inclusion models • Working within an instructional team • Standards-based assessment and instruction • Teaching a diverse student population • Multi-aged groupings • Teaching strengths in math and science • Demonstrated successful experience in writing curriculum and developing relationships with the business community • Expectation of continued professional growth and cross-curricular support and Integration • Ability to effectively collaborate and plan with other teachers within the CTE and across core content areas • Collaborate with core content teachers to integrate business, information technology, and core content skills across curriculum

Work Hours and Benefits
Work Hours: Available to students, parents, and staff from 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday - Friday or agreed-upon hours.
Work from home (10% travel for required events).
Computer, monthly internet stipend, printer, online phone provided.
This position does have healthcare, vision, dental, 401K-match, & bonuses (not a district position).
