position Summary:

The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for driving new business growth by identifying, engaging, and converting prospective customers. This role owns the full front-end business development cycle from prospecting and outreach to closing new accounts and maintaining long-term customer relationships. The BDR plays a critical role in expanding market presence, generating revenue, and building strategic partnerships.

Essential Duties and responsibilities:

  • Identify and research potential customers aligned with target market segments
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects
  • Utilize outbound strategies including cold calls, email campaigns, networking, referrals, and social selling
  • Attend industry events and conferences as appropriate
  • Initiate contact with prospective clients to understand needs and pain points
  • Conduct discovery conversations to assess fit and opportunity size
  • Present company offerings in a compelling, consultative manner
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders as needed to support solution development
  • Manage opportunities through the sales cycle from initial contact to close
  • Prepare proposals, pricing, and contract terms
  • Negotiate agreements and close new business
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for newly acquired customers
  • Ensure smooth onboarding and transition to long-term account management (if applicable)
  • Maintain ongoing relationships to drive retention and upsell opportunities
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively address issues
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in CRM system
  • Track pipeline activity, forecast revenue, and report on performance metrics
  • Provide market feedback and competitive intelligence to leadership

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 1–5 years of experience in sales, business development, or related role
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience using CRM tools preferred
