Business Development Representative (Contract) Primary Function of Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and digitally savvy Business Development Representative on a contract basis to support the growth and adoption of the Ion platform in expanding access to minimally invasive care for lung biopsy. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to build a career in sales and business development within the healthcare sector. The Business Development Representative will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, engaging healthcare providers, coordinating and facilitating clinical and market research studies, and supporting digital and CRM initiatives.

Essential Job Duties
  • Coordinate research and study activities for multiple departments and team members.
  • Conduct cold outreach via email, phone, and LinkedIn to engage existing customers with networking and connectivity for company systems.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including technical support, engineering, design, and clinical teams.
  • Communicate proactively regarding progress, blockers, and support needs while building trust through reliability and accountability.
  • Partner with local sales teams to ensure consistent alignment and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within hospital IT departments and physician champions.
  • Monitor and report on digital project performance and recommend improvements where appropriate.
  • Recruit, coordinate, and facilitate clinical and market research studies.
  • Provide on-site execution support for clinical and market research studies in the field and at Sunnyvale and Atlanta facilities.
  • Ensure appropriate legal and payment compliance through business systems.
  • Manage administrative responsibilities, including SFDC management, expense report submissions, and other related activities.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience.
  • Preferred location at Sunnyvale headquarters; available to work on-site when requested.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complexity and perform effectively in a dynamic, changing environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms such as Salesforce (SFDC) or HubSpot, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to excel in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability and flexibility to travel to required field sites up to 60%.
  • Ability to interact cross-functionally with healthcare professionals and hospital facilities; familiarity with hospital operations is desirable.
  • Ability to travel on short notice and support studies across varying United States geographies, including booking and utilizing all forms of travel.
  • Knowledge of the Pulmonology/Bronchoscopy environment is a plus.
Travel Requirements
  • Up to 60% domestic travel.
