Position Overview
The Business Development Representative is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, cultivating long-term client relationships, and expanding deposit and lending relationships throughout the assigned territory.
This role requires a proactive, self-motivated individual who enjoys prospecting, attending networking events, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver an outstanding client experience.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and community outreach
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective clients and referral partners
- Identify opportunities to expand both business banking and lending relationships
- Represent the organization at networking events, business associations, and community functions
Relationship Management
- Develop lasting relationships with local business owners, community leaders, and organizations
- Meet with prospective clients to understand their financial goals and banking needs
- Deliver a consultative, relationship-focused sales experience
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients and referral sources
Client Support
- Assist new clients throughout the onboarding process
- Partner with internal departments to ensure a seamless customer experience
- Educate clients on available banking products and financial solutions
- Build long-term client loyalty through responsive follow-up and exceptional service
Reporting & Compliance
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, referrals, and client interactions
- Track pipeline activity and business development performance
- Support market growth initiatives and territory expansion strategies
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable banking regulations
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in business development, outside sales, account management, or a customer-facing sales role required
- Banking, commercial lending, or financial services experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Knowledge of deposit products, commercial lending, or financial services is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
