The role of the Business Development Representative is to drive new business growth within an assigned territory while owning the full sales lifecycle—from initial outreach through close—and building long-term customer relationships based on trust and results.
Business Development Representatives work cross-functionally with IT, Software, and Print Specialists to identify opportunities, design the right solutions, and support outcomes aligned with customer goals. Success requires the ability to assess business needs and translate them into effective solutions, along with adaptability and consistent execution from prospecting through close.
Responsibilities include prospecting and acquiring new accounts through outbound outreach, referrals, and leads; managing opportunities from initial conversation through close; maintaining accurate pipeline tracking and sales forecasts; partnering with internal specialists to assess needs and recommend technology solutions; building and maintaining long-term customer relationships within your territory; meeting or exceeding individual and team sales goals; researching accounts and industries to identify growth opportunities; participating in sales meetings, training, and company events; providing clear, measurable updates to leadership on activity; and supporting cost-benefit analysis for proposed solutions.
Experience and required skills include the ability to engage prospects and build professional relationships, strategic prospecting, strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, product knowledge, and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Education required is a high school diploma or GED.
Physical requirements include the ability to sit for prolonged periods of time, including as a driver or passenger in an automobile; ability to lift, carry, and otherwise transport work-related materials that frequently weigh up to 25 lbs. and that may occasionally weigh in excess of 25 lbs.; and ability to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone for prolonged periods of time.
