We are seeking a driven and relationship-focused Business Development Manager (BDM) to expand our client base in the manufacturing sector. You will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities while fostering long-term relationships with decision-makers in maintenance, plant operations, and HR.This role is ideal for someone who understands industrial staffing, thrives in a consultative sales environment, and enjoys helping manufacturers solve critical labor and uptime challenges.ResponsibilitiesProspecting of potential clients in the manufacturing industry.Work with the Lead Generation Team to help close potential opportunities and increase client inflow.Conduct outbound sales activities: cold calling, emailing, networking, and attending industry events.Attend trade shows for the purpose of building relationships and generating sales activity.Establish relationships with plant managers, maintenance supervisors, HR teams, and procurement leads.Understand client pain points and position our skilled maintenance staffing solutions effectively.Create and present proposals, pricing models, and staffing plans tailored to client needs.Maintain accurate records of all sales activities and opportunities in CRM (i.e. HubSpot).Stay informed on industry trends, labor regulations, and competitors.Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.Willingness to travel up to 40% annuallyTravel includes both by flight and driving – must be able to drive for extended periods of time in a day over several days of travel.Travel is to attend/participate in multi‑day trade show events and to attend in‑person meetings at client facilities within Skillwork's model. Client facilities are most commonly, but are not limited to, the manufacturing space. In this role while on client visits, you may be required or requested to complete facility tours. Facilities conditions and environment that may be experienced when completing a facility tour may often include, but are not limited to, high powered machinery, high heat, cold, wet/slippery/uneven flooring, climbing stairs and/or scaffolding and walking great distances.Required Skills and Qualifications2–5 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in staffing, industrial services, or manufacturing.Strong sales and persuasion abilities, and ability to negotiate and close deals.Strong understanding of the manufacturing industry, production needs and safety standards.Self‑starter with excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.Understanding of contract, contract‑to‑hire, and direct placement staffing models.Prior experience working in or selling to maintenance teams (mechanical, electrical, automation, etc.).Familiarity with skilled trades roles, such as maintenance mechanics, industrial electricians, and automation technicians.#J-18808-Ljbffr
