The Opportunity


We are looking for a driven, relationship-focused Business Development Manager to help expand our presence across the Coastside and Peninsula markets. This role is centered around building and maintaining strong referral pipelines with:


  • Insurance agents & brokers (personal and commercial lines)
  • Property managers, HOA boards, and multifamily operators
  • Plumbing companies and in-home service providers
  • Local business owners and community stakeholders

This is not a "sit behind a desk" role. It's a field-driven, relationship-first position where consistency, follow-through, and trust-building win.


Key Responsibilities


  • Represent Lyon Restoration in the market as a trusted, local expert in emergency building services
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with:
  • Insurance agents and brokers (become their go-to restoration partner)
  • Property managers, HOA boards, and facility managers
  • Plumbing contractors and other referral partners
  • Conduct regular in-person visits, lunches, and drop-bys with referral partners
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and community engagement
  • Coordinate and participate in:
  • Educational events (CE classes, lunch & learns)
  • Property walkthroughs and risk assessments
  • Local networking events and industry groups
  • Track and manage referral activity, partner engagement, and pipeline growth
  • Ensure consistent follow-up and execution on all commitments
  • Collaborate with operations team to ensure a seamless client experience from first call through project completion
  • Monitor referral trends and provide insights to leadership on growth opportunities
  • Actively contribute to strengthening Lyon's brand as a local, responsive, and accountable brand.

  • Strong, consistent referral flow from agents, property managers, and plumbers
  • High partner retention and engagement (you become "their person")
  • Growth in both new accounts and existing partner volume
  • Positive reputation in the local market as a trusted, responsive resource

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in sales, account management, or business development
  • Experience working with or marketing to:
  • Insurance agents/brokers
  • Property managers/HOAs
  • Trades (plumbing, construction, etc.) is a strong plus
  • Comfortable building relationships with a wide range of personalities--from blue-collar tradespeople to property managers and agency owners
  • Self-starter with strong time management and accountability
  • Excellent communication, listening, and follow-up skills
  • Ability to manage multiple relationships and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
  • Valid California Driver's License

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $65,000-$85,000
  • Performance-Based Commissions:
  • New account development
  • Growth of existing accounts
  • Target Year 1 Earnings: $85,000 - $100,000+
