Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly strategic and commercially driven leader to serve as Strategic Business Development and Commercial Planning Manager. This role will lead initiatives focused on accelerating growth across tissue processing, core histology, and digital pathology solutions while driving operational alignment, margin expansion, and data-driven commercial execution. The ideal candidate combines deep knowledge of oncology diagnostics workflows with strong business acumen, cross-functional leadership capability, and expertise in commercial analytics, AI-enabled tools, and CRM platforms such as Salesforce.com.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Develop and execute strategic commercial plans to expand market share and revenue growth across cancer diagnostics portfolios, including tissue processing, histology, and digital pathology solutions.
- Identify and prioritize growth opportunities within hospital systems, pathology laboratories, academic medical centers, and integrated delivery networks.
- Drive margin improvement initiatives through pricing optimization, portfolio rationalization, workflow efficiencies, and strategic account development.
- Partner with regional sales leadership to develop territory growth plans and commercial execution strategies.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives integrating core histology workflows with digital pathology platforms and AI-enabled diagnostic solutions.
- Collaborate with product management, operations, pathology informatics, and field application teams to align commercial priorities and customer solutions.
- Support adoption of end-to-end laboratory workflow solutions spanning tissue processing, staining, imaging, analytics, and digital interpretation.
- Act as a subject matter expert on evolving pathology workflows, automation trends, and AI-driven diagnostics.
- Utilize advanced analytics and AI-enabled commercial tools to identify market trends, customer utilization patterns, forecasting opportunities, and sales performance improvements.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting capabilities within Salesforce.com and related business intelligence platforms.
- Analyze profitability, customer segmentation, pipeline performance, and operational KPIs to support strategic decision-making.
- Drive data quality, CRM adoption, and standardized sales processes across commercial teams.
- Develop executive-level relationships with pathology leaders, laboratory directors, procurement teams, and oncology stakeholders.
- Collaborate with marketing and clinical teams to position differentiated value propositions focused on workflow optimization, diagnostic accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, customer workshops, and strategic business reviews.
- Gather voice-of-customer insights to inform commercial strategy and future product development.
- Serve as a liaison between commercial, clinical, operations, digital pathology, and informatics teams.
- Lead strategic projects and change management initiatives supporting commercial transformation and operational integration.
- Mentor and support field sales teams on consultative selling approaches and workflow-based solution positioning.
Skills You Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in cancer diagnostics, pathology, histology, laboratory workflow solutions, or related healthcare technology sectors.
- Demonstrated experience in commercial strategy, business development, or strategic account management.
- Strong understanding of tissue processing, histology laboratory operations, and/or digital pathology ecosystems.
- Experience using Salesforce.com and commercial analytics platforms.
- Proven ability to analyze financial performance and drive margin growth initiatives.
- Experience with AI-enabled diagnostics, pathology informatics, or laboratory automation technologies.
- Knowledge of reimbursement, oncology care pathways, and precision medicine trends.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or operational excellence methodologies.
- Experience managing cross-functional integration initiatives in healthcare or diagnostics environments.
- Global Commercial Experience
Work Environment
- Hybrid or remote-based with travel to customer sites, laboratories, conferences, and internal meetings as needed.
- Travel expectation: approximately 30–50%.
The hiring range for this position is: $135,000-$225,000, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
