Job Description

Business Architect Expert - Telematics & Connected Claims - Remote

Job Summary

We are seeking a Business Architect Expert to lead the design and scaling of telematics-powered capabilities that deliver measurable value across the claim's lifecycle. This role operates at the capability level across platforms, translating business needs into technical solutions while supporting broader business architecture strategy, frameworks, and roadmaps.

This is a senior individual contributor role focused on translating telematics systems, data, and connected-vehicle capabilities into improved claim outcomes, faster decisions, enhanced customer experiences, and stronger operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the telematics business architecture strategy for claims, identifying where telematics can create the greatest operational and customer value across FNOL, investigation, decisioning, and downstream claim processes.
  • Partner across claims, enterprise telematics, analytics, data science, product, and engineering teams to align priorities, shape solution direction, and ensure business goals are translated into executable technical work.
  • Lead discovery, experimentation, and test-and-learn efforts to validate how telematics data can improve claim outcomes and operational performance before scaling broadly.
  • Define and measure success for telematics-enabled claims use cases, including opportunities tied to outcome comparison, decision-quality improvement, FNOL triage enhancement, and advanced crash reconstruction/investigation support.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of business architecture solutions and making recommendations for enhancements, including process development, improvement, rollout, and integration activities, while optimizing process oversight with agility across telematics-enabled workflows.
  • Translating business requirements into technical specifications and guiding implementation of initiatives, operating at the capability level in support of broader platforms, including telematics-enabled claims capabilities.
  • Engage in discovery, experimentation, and test-and-learn activities to validate assumptions and solution direction, proactively engaging stakeholders to collect insights and ensure successful execution of initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain business architecture models, frameworks, and roadmaps, incorporating telematics capabilities to support production, quality, and customer service goals.
  • Guide implementation of initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders across claims, telematics, product, engineering, and analytics teams to align business strategies with technology solutions and ensure integration between capabilities.
  • Analyze and understand current business processes, goals, and objectives, identifying opportunities for improvement, optimization, and reuse, including the application of telematics data to enhance workflows and decisioning.
  • Articulate the potential benefits of transformation initiatives within the innovation portfolio, specifically connecting telematics capabilities to measurable business outcomes such as cycle time, routing accuracy, and customer experience.
  • Collaborate with other Digital Business Architects to ensure cohesive integration between workstreams and consistency in architecture practices.
  • Collaboratively drives transformation strategy, vision, and roadmap, advocating for innovative ideas including telematics and connected-claims capabilities across the organization.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced Business Architects, supporting career progression while operating as a senior individual contributor.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in business architecture, product strategy, operating model design, or related transformation roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to turn telematics data into operational value, ideally in claims, insurance, customer service, risk, or adjacent workflows where decision speed, quality, and automation matter.
  • Strong stakeholder collaboration across business, technology, and product teams.
  • Experience with telematics, connected-vehicle ecosystems, or adjacent data-driven domains (preferred).
  • Ability to support capability modeling, roadmap development, and future-state design.
  • Experience in property and auto insurance industry
  • Familiarity with OEM/embedded telematics, connected-car data partnerships, or multi-source telematics ecosystems beyond mobile-app-only data.
  • Knowledge of insurance regulatory/privacy considerations related to telematics, usage-based insurance, or product/claims data usage.
  • Experience working with data science, predictive modeling, or experimentation teams to bring analytics-driven capabilities into production workflows.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This job does not have supervisory duties.

Travel

  • Must be able to travel up to Max 10%.

  • Occasional travel to hubs (Chicago, Charlotte, Dallas & Scottsdale) and other locations as needed.
