The Business Analyst II will fulfill the key function of understanding the desired workflows, processes, and outcomes of clinical initiatives and translating those needs into actionable reporting. This role involves collaboration with key clinical stakeholders, informatics teams, and data office partners, while serving as a member of the development team responsible for executing on product development.
Specifically, this role will work closely with technical and clinical subject matter experts to define requirements and specifications for reporting metrics, create functional dashboard requirements, identify and resolve project issues, and ensure the Analytics Products solutions meet the business needs and requirements.
The Business Analyst II will demonstrate an understanding of the service lines within the company, the business and data domains of the specific lines of business in their area of support, key products and services common to the industry, and an understanding of the business goals and value proposition. The information will be used as a basis for gathering customer input and feedback to support meeting expectations, with the goal of achieving customer value and initiative targets.
This role should practice attentive listening, clear and thoughtful communication, and display empathy towards others' ideas and perspectives. Additionally, the Business Analyst II is accountable for documenting work performed, assisting with project handoffs, and supporting project management roles. All duties should be performed with a focus on quality of work and attention to detail.
•Leads conversations with clinical stakeholders to determine business needs and resulting business value, and derives requirements to meet those needs
•In conjunction with product analysts on the team, transitions business requirements to product support; assists with end-user support as needed
•Elicits and translates high level business needs into development requirements
•Documents customer requirements and develops user stories
•Demonstrates an understanding of supported applications and data domains
•Communicates progress and risks to project team and stakeholders
•Builds good relationships with business stakeholders and IT teams based on mutual trust and respect
•Assists with driving delivery to achieve customer value and goals
•Accountable for customer satisfaction, conflict resolution, and management of business expectations
•Understands and follows escalation process for Business Analysis, Quality Assurance and Operations Support issues, risks and mitigation
•Coordinates across all analytics functions on behalf of customer
•Communicates confidence in analytics capabilities and product delivery assurance
•Understands business practices, data, tools, applications, goals, and vision of supported business area
•Communicates with Project Management as appropriate
•Assists with tracking quality metrics and customer satisfaction, providing input on QA plans
•Utilizes the knowledge and skills of team members
•All other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
•Bachelor’s Degree and 3 plus years related experience. Experience developing or supporting clinical data or other clinical informatics projects required
•Database query experience preferred
•Agile/Scrum methodology experience preferred
