Position Summary:
We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to support the PA Data Team. This role is focused on helping refine the work needed to establish the foundation for data, including support for ETL, data schema changes, and related data enablement activities.

The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical thinking, a practical understanding of data environments, and the ability to work across business and technical stakeholders to translate needs into clear, actionable requirements. While deep technical expertise in ADLS (Azure Data Lake Storage) or Databricks is not required, familiarity with modern data platforms and the ability to work effectively in data-centric environments will be important.
This role is best suited for someone who can help clarify requirements, identify dependencies, and support the evolution of data structures and pipelines that enable downstream reporting, analytics, and operational use cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with business, product, and technical stakeholders to define and refine requirements for data foundation work.
  • Support efforts to establish and improve the underlying data structure needed for reporting, analytics, and operational use.
  • Help refine work related to ETL, data movement, and transformation activities.
  • Analyze and document data schema changes and their downstream impacts.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to understand how data flows through source systems, pipelines, and downstream consumers.
  • Translate business needs into actionable requirements for data engineering and platform teams.
  • Identify dependencies, risks, and assumptions associated with changes to data models or pipelines.
  • Support validation of data-related changes to ensure the resulting structure is fit for purpose.
  • Assist in documenting workflows, data definitions, and technical considerations that support data enablement.
  • Contribute to ongoing prioritization and clarification of work needed to strengthen the data foundation.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or similar role supporting data, systems, or technology initiatives.
  • Ability to work effectively with business and technical teams to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguity.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down complex data-related work into manageable components.
  • Understanding of ETL concepts, data movement, and transformation.
  • Experience supporting or documenting data schema changes, data structures, or platform-related work.
  • Ability to identify dependencies and communicate impacts clearly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a technical environment and learning new tools, processes, and data concepts.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with ADLS (Azure Data Lake Storage).
  • Familiarity with Databricks.
  • Experience supporting data platform, analytics, or data engineering teams.
  • Exposure to data architecture, data quality, or data integration work.
  • Ability to help refine foundational data requirements for downstream use cases.
