POSITION PURPOSE:
The position of Bus Driver/Substitute Bus Driver is responsible for operating a school bus and other vehicles and perform associated and operational duties in transporting students.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
May work outdoors in inclement weather. May require physical mobility to move through a school campus, including up and down stairs and inside and outside.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a general posting for one or more Bus Driver/Substitute Bus Driver positions. Positions may be full or part-time and will be filled as specific openings are identified.
2025-26 Transportation Personnel salary classification range $25.35/hour to $40.16/hour.
Training: $25.35/hour
Probation Substitute Bus Driver: $33.40/hour and Probation Bus Driver: $33.72/hour
After 60 workday probation period based on negotiated collective bargaining agreement, 20-40 hours per week, for a 180-day annual assignment.
Bus Drivers - Medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, and life-insurance eligibility is based upon 630 hours worked within a school year (eligible following training period). Retirement provided through Washington State Department of Retirement Systems. Holiday pay based on negotiated bargaining agreement.
Substitute Bus Drivers are not eligible for benefits.
