POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE: BUS DRIVERS - FULL-TIME SCHEDULE
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP AND PENNSAUKEN CAMPUSES
Deadline: This position will be filled in no less than ten (10) days after the date of this posting.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with school bus and passenger endorsement.
- Minimum of three years previous safe driving experience. No tickets and/or violations from any jurisdiction - except parking.
- Sufficient mechanical aptitude to diagnose minor problems.
- Ability to maintain passenger discipline to ensure their safety and well-being and protect against vandalism.
- Successfully undergo a criminal history check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
- Meets the health requirements required of all personnel.
- Meets NJ residency requirements or willingness to relocate to NJ within 365 days of employment.
- Must follow the guidelines of the Camden County Policy File Code 0142.1.
Position: This is a position for Full-Time Schedule of Hours and is a 10-month position. Summer Hours are available for summer programs.
Salary: $31 per hour for driving. Agreement between Camden County Technical Schools and Teamsters Local Union 929.

POSITION GOALS
To transport pupils in a safe and efficient manner and perform all activities related to the operation of the school bus.
REPORTS TO: Director of Athletics and Student Activities
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct a pre-trip safety inspection of the bus prior to every trip and complete the related written bus inspection reports.
- Notify designated maintenance personnel of any mechanical malfunctions and/or safety hazards.
- Notify the proper authority in the event of mechanical failure or lateness.
- Adhere to established routes, designated bus stops, and keep to assigned time schedules.
- Transport only authorized pupils.
- Obey all traffic laws and observe mandatory school bus safety regulations.
- Use bus emergency equipment, including cellular phones, according to district guidelines and state laws.
- Enforce regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.
- Maintain discipline on the bus and report violations and/or vandalism to the principal or designee.
- Report all accidents and pupil injuries, complete required reports.
- Participate in emergency evacuation drills in accordance with board policy and instruct passengers regarding safety regulations and other bus rules.
- Perform required interior bus cleaning duties following each trip and clean windows and exterior as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the director of athletics and student activities or designee.
