Qualifications
- School Bus drivers should possess a Class B commercial license with school bus and passenger
- Substitute or alternative driver shall meet all qualifications and requirements of the regular
- Physical exams are required for all school bus drivers A physician approved by the Board of Education shall sign the certificate of fitness, based upon a complete physical examination.

Duties
- Provide safe efficient transportation of students over established bus
- Be neat in appearance, courteous to parents and children, and cooperative with teachers and school
- Be responsible for sweeping and cleaning his/her bus
- Do not use profanity or tobacco in any
- Be responsible for the safety and correct discipline of the students while they are being transported and do not allow tobacco, drinks, or other contraband on the
- Obey all state and local traffic regulations and assist motorists in passing school buses between
- Cooperate with principals who may suspend a student from riding the bus when his/her behavior is such tocausesdissensiononthebus,orwhenthestudents disobeystateor local rulesandregulations about pupil transportation
- Promotesafetyhabitswiththestudents whoare being
- Wear seat belts at all
- Participate in State-sponsored mandatory driver training
- Not use intoxicating beverages or drugs while
- Not let students off the bus except at school and their bus
- Written permission from the student's parent must be secured through the school principal to let students off at other stops.
- Take the following actions in case of an accident
- Give attention immediately to any personal injuries; secure medical attention if necessary; C. Report the accident to the Police, Superintendent, and Principle immediately.
- Check all fluids, lights, emergency buzzers, and all items required for pre and post-trip inspections daily.
- Cooperate with the officials of each school
- Fill out a conduct report on discipline problems to the principal of the school that the student
- Not stop at a store, cafe, or similar establishment for refreshments when the bus is en route to or from
- Arrive at the last school served, not before 7:30 AM and not later than five {5) minutes before the start of

- Stop bus where it can be seen in time by approaching motorists, using a stop sign for all
- Allow riders disembarking to cross in front of the bus before starting
- Perform a pre-trip inspection of brakes, steering gear, doors, and tires
- Follow all highway signs and road
- File a report with the Director of School's office on the license number of vehicles ( drivers) disregarding safety
- Not exceed thirty- five (35) mph on back roads
- Follow the schedule and be courteous to all students who are waiting to board the bus There will be only a five (5) minute arrival variation.
- Close thebusdoorbeforemovingthe
- Neverleavethekeyin the ignition.Principalsdo notallowstudentsonthebus unlessthebusdriveris present.
- Acquaint him/herself with the state's rules_ and regulations concerning the school bus.
- Acquaint him/herself with the state and local laws affecting the safety and welfare of transported
- Driversareresponsibleformaintainingacleanbusinsideand out.Driversare toreportmechanicalissuesto the supervisor or mechanics as soon as they are found. Drivers ARE responsible for fueling their buses and bringing their buses in for service and repairs.
- Never remove students from the bus route, unless released to the police or
- Reporttotheprincipalanystudentswhodonotcompletethehome-to-school/orschool-to-home.
