American Welding & Gas Inc. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bulk Distribution Director to lead and manage the daily operations of our global bulk distribution team in the Lexington, KY area.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, a deep understanding of logistics and distribution, and the ability to effectively coordinate with managers, schedules, and routing functions to ensure timely deliveries and optimal operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of bulk distribution operations across the organization.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of managers and logistics personnel.
- Coordinate routing, scheduling, and delivery execution to maximize efficiency and service levels.
- Maintain bulk cryogenic transport and gaseous tube trailer fleet.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in transportation, cost control, and service reliability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, and supply chain teams.
- Maintain full P&L responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management.
Qualifications:
- Proven leadership experience in logistics, transportation, or bulk distribution.
- Experience with cryogenic liquids, co2, and other bulk gaseous products.
- Approximately 70% travel is required across the designated region.
- Strong operational and financial acumen, including P&L management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and team development skills.
- Strong leadership and team building skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to think quickly in high-pressure situations.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations, including DOT and safety standards.
- Proficiency in dispatch software, routing tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field is a plus.
