Class Summary

Job Description

The Building Services Coordinator position is responsible for supervising inmates to include prioritizing and assigning work: maintaining a healthy and safe work environment; and making recommendations for inmate job transfers. This position will inspect central facilities and outlaying buildings for safety problems, cleanliness, and comfort. In addition, this position will perform building maintenance and repairs as well as research and evaluate space requirements for employees who are redefining, relocating, or expanding their office space.

Essential Duties

  • Reviewing all requests for vouchers, work orders, memorandums and responding to requests, and ensuring proper procedures are followed
  • Ensuring grounds are properly maintained and groomed
  • Overseeing and preparing the facility for meetings and events with proper equipment, seating, and tables
  • Ensuring all tools and equipment are maintained and issuing receipts to personnel and inmates upon check out.
  • Performing inspections and spot-checking systems and mechanical rooms.

Other Job Requirements/Information

  • This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing.
  • This job is a civilian position in either a public safety department or in Information Technology with close ties to public safety. Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a public safety background which may include motor vehicle & criminal histories, and fingerprinting.

Grade

The grade for this position is B23(1). Salary will be dependent on education and experience.

Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. AND

  • Three years of building maintenance, safety, management, or related experience

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.

  • Valid drivers license

  • CPR and First Aid Certification
