Position Overview:
We’re looking for a Junior Estimator to join our Minneapolis team. This is an in-office position where you’ll help with takeoffs and estimating for residential and multifamily projects, with a focus on lumber and related building materials. This opportunity is ideal for someone early in their career who wants to learn, grow, and contribute within a supportive and experienced team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with material takeoffs from construction drawings and project plans.
- Prepare and review estimates and material lists for lumber and building materials.
- Learn and apply estimating software (Planswift strongly preferred or Bluebeam).
- Work with sales staff, project managers, and customers to ensure estimates meet project needs.
- Support senior estimators and gain exposure to best practices in estimating.
- Stay organized with project files, ensuring accuracy in quantities and pricing.
Qualifications:
- 1–5 years of experience in estimating, construction supply, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of or interest in lumber and construction methods.
- Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings.
- Familiarity with estimating/takeoff software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong math skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
- Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills.
