Offers are based on experience, education, certifications, and other factors.City of Greeleys Total RewardsThe City offers a robust benefits package including health and wellness, retirement savings, and discounted Greeley facilities access.Job Summary:The Building Inspector II provides expertise to other City employees and to the citizens of Greeley in the field of Building inspections, specifically, electrical in relation to residential, commercial, industrial, and rental property. This position may direct assignments for Building Inspector I staff.Experience, Knowledge, Skills:Minimum Requirements:Bachelors degree in a relevant field or comparable industry certificationsFive (5) to six (6) years of experience in construction, structural, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical fieldsMaster or Journeyman Electrical license requiredAbility to attain ICC Residential Building Inspector certification within the first yearPreferred:Structural experienceBilingual in English and SpanishKnowledge, Skills, Abilities:Knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, and fire codesAwareness of hazards and ability to work safelyUnderstanding of construction principles and system integrationAbility to identify code violations and safety hazardsSkill in reading blueprints and construction documentsStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenProficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new softwareStrong customer service and conflict resolution skillsAbility to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing prioritiesEssential Functions:Conduct inspections for compliance with codes and ordinancesReview plans and construction documentsLog inspection results using TRAKiTIssue violation notices as necessaryInvestigate complaints and enforce codesProvide technical guidance on code requirementsCoordinate with planning, fire, engineering, and public works staffRespond to inquiries from the public and stakeholdersAssist in training Building Inspector I staffSupervisory Responsibilities:N/ATravel:Regular local/field-based travel within the County.
