Description

Job Title: Building/General Construction Technician

Location: Hicksville, NY

Pay Rate: $30.00/hr, W2

Duration: 3+ Month Contract

Summary:

  • Hours: Friday 12:00 pm – 09:30 PM, Saturday & Sunday 9:00AM to 07:00PM, three days a week, hours subject to business needs may increase.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general construction tasks including carpentry, drywall, flooring, painting, and minor structural repairs.
  • Conduct routine building maintenance and corrective repairs as required.
  • Install, repair, and maintain building fixtures, doors, walls, ceilings, and related components.
  • Support renovation and improvement projects across the facility.
  • Read and interpret basic construction drawings, layouts, and specifications.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company standards, safety regulations (OSHA), and GMP requirements (if applicable).
  • Assist with troubleshooting facility-related issues and provide timely solutions.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, and external contractors as needed.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe and organized condition.
  • Document completed work and report any findings or required follow-ups.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 18 years or older.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in general construction, building maintenance, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings is an asset.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
