About the Role:

As a CBRE Building Engineer, you play a vital role in keeping facilities running at peak performance. Youll be the go-to expert for maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable building systems from HVAC and electrical to plumbing and structural components. This position sits within CBREs Engineering & Technical Services function, where youll support day-to-day operations, preventive maintenance, and critical repairs that keep everything functioning smoothly.

What Youll Do:

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, and fire/life safety systems
  • Ensure all equipment and systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and company standards
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks to maximize system reliability and extend equipment life
  • Respond to emergency service requests and complete corrective repairs in a timely manner
  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize energy management systems to support efficient building operations
  • Inspect HVAC, fire alarm, and plumbing systems to verify performance within design specifications and client requirements
  • Diagnose system issues and implement effective, sustainable solutions
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and properly handle hazardous materials
  • Support team members by sharing knowledge and demonstrating CBRE RISE values
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clearly communicate technical information to stakeholders

What Youll Need:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Universal CFC certification is preferred. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions. Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
